Joe's Fine Coffee

Joe’s is the sit-down coffee stop in Maple Falls and the first place we point Little Red Cabin guests on a slow morning — it’s three minutes away, right at the Maple Falls corner of the highway. It’s an actual cafe, not a drive-through stand: limited indoor seating, a patio people genuinely like, espresso and drip alongside tea and hot chocolate, and the baking done in house.

The order that shows up in review after review is the breakfast sandwich on a homemade English muffin, and that’s what we’d tell you to get too. If you’re staying at the Black Cedar, Wake ‘N Bakery in Glacier is closer; Joe’s earns the stop whenever you’re passing through Maple Falls anyway. What to order

• The breakfast sandwich on a homemade English muffin — the standing favorite
• A veggie breakfast burrito when you want something heftier
• Muffins, biscuits, and croissants, all baked in house
• A deli sandwich to pack out for the trail
• Tea and hot chocolate for the non-coffee people in the car

Good to know

• Check the hours before you drive. Joe’s own site doesn’t publish a schedule — its hours page says only: “Our hours can change from week to week. For the most accurate, up-to-date hours, check our Google Business page.” Every listing we can find shows seven days, roughly 7am–3pm on weekdays and 7am–5pm on weekends, but the shop itself is telling you not to trust a fixed number, so we won’t print one as gospel either. • Whatever the exact closing time, it’s a breakfast-and-lunch stop, not an evening one
• Indoor seating is limited; the patio is the move on a clear day
• Listings disagree on whether the address is Maple Falls or Deming — same building, same corner, just a mailing-address quirk of this stretch of the highway. Don’t let a map app talk you into a second location; there isn’t one.
